Tsuchinoko
Perhaps the photos that supposedly show a creature known in Japan as the tsuchinoko are just a case of mistaken identity. Some argue that what you see here is just a snake digesting a huge meal, or an escaped exotic pet. But tsuchinokos have been reported since the 7th century, and considering some of the other bizarre creatures that have been confirmed as real lately, it wouldn’t be too surprising if this were really an undiscovered species. Japanese legend only serves to muddy the issue, however, with claims that the creature talks, with a propensity for lying and a love for alcoholic beverages.
The Tsuchinoko (ツチノコ or 槌の子 ) literally translating to "hammerspawn," is a legendary snake-like cryptid from Japan. The name tsuchinoko is prevalent in Western Japan, including Kansai and Shikoku; the creature is known as bachi hebi (バチヘビ ) in Northeastern Japan.
Tsuchinoko are described as being between 30 and 80 centimetres in length, similar in appearance to a snake, but with a central girth that is much wider than its head or tail, and as having fangs and venom similar to that of a viper.[1] Some accounts also describe the tsuchinoko as being able to jump up to a meter in distance.[2]
According to legend, some tsuchinoko have the ability to speak and a propensity for lying, and is also said to have a taste for alcohol. Legend records that it will sometimes swallow its own tail so that it can roll like a hoop, similarly to the mythical hoop snake.
The tsuchinoko was one of many capturable animals in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The tsuchinoko is invisible until caught in a mousetrap. If the player finishes the game with a live tsuchinoko, the reward is a special type of facepaint that grants infinite ammo.
The tsuchinoko was a rare enemy in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. It only appeared in a single room, and even then only rarely. If the player collected its soul, they could equip it to receive a discount on all items at the shop. The Pokémon Dunsparce is also based on a Tsuchinoko.
In Katekyo Hitman Reborn Target 108, Baishana summons a Tsuchinoko to fight along side him.

When shot they will emit a squeaking noise much like a rat.
The tsuchinoko was constantly searched after by the UMA Club, which was founded by Major Zero.
